The spring school holidays are here, and the Val d'Ardenne is brimming with ideas to keep young and old entertained outdoors! Between the Ardennes forest, the Meuse river and historical heritage, here are 5 unmissable activities to enjoy as a family this week.

The Accropierre in Charlemont – The big new attraction for 2026!
It is LA New this season: since April 11, 2026, the Fort of Charlemont opens its doors to Accropierre, a unique experience of its kind in the north of France, combining thrills, discovery and breathtaking views of the Meuse valley.
Three routes adapted to all levels are offered: the Bastions Route (from 6 years old), for games and workshops at moderate height, the Underground Route (also from 6 years old), for an immersion in the bowels of the fortress.

A cruise on the Meuse aboard the Charlemagne
Embark on a gentle adventure along the Meuse River! For these spring holidays, the Charlemagne boat will be sailing from Revin (Rue Vital Sueur) on Saturdays and Sundays, from April 18th to May 10th. No sailing on May 1st.
Departures take place at 11:00, 13:30 and 16:00.

TerrAltitude Park in Fumay – Thrills guaranteed!
Reopened since April 4th, the TerrAltitude park in Fumay offers treetop adventure courses for children as young as 4 or 5, the Adventurers' Tower with a freefall jump, a catapult, the Fantasticable (a 1,2 km zipline over the Meuse River!), and paintball. And since 2025, a new attraction designed for toddlers: the Nutons Wood, for children aged 2 to 12.
A park that truly caters to all ages: parents can even participate! Online booking is mandatory, so keep that in mind before you go.

The Nichet Cave in Fromelennes – An enchanting underground world
For a magical experience far from the outside world (and the unpredictable spring weather!), head to Fromelennes. The Nichet Cave is the only tourist cave in northern France that can be visited. 53 meters deep, it comprises 20 chambers spread over 3 levels, with a constant temperature of 9 degrees Celsius.
In April and May, the cave is open every weekend and on public holidays. and school holidays, from 14am to 18pm

The Green Way – A gentle walk between the forest and the Meuse
For a 100% nature outing, take the Green Way! Nearly 50 km of developed path between Givet and Revin, ideal for cycling, scootering or walking, it runs alongside breathtaking Ardennes landscapes.
This is a ride accessible to all ages, even the youngest cyclists with trailers or balance bikes. A wonderful way to enjoy spring in the Ardennes, with lungs full of fresh air!
