Charlemont

Charlemont, perched on a rocky outcrop, in the heart of the Pointe de Givet Nature Reserve, dominates the Meuse and its surroundings.
This impressive fortress, built over 400 years ago, now welcomes tourists and curious visitors for cultural and leisure activities.

Today, it is the tourist who rises to attack Charlemont, a privileged witness to history.
Discover, in the open air, on a marked circuit, the Pointe-Est, the old village and the superb views of the Meuse and Givet.

The site has been protected as a Historic Monument since October 24, 1927.

Self-guided and guided tours are available to discover the history of this iconic place, listed as a Historical Monument since 1927.

The little train ride will also allow you to discover the mighty Western Front.

Charlemont can also be explored through leisure activities:
The climbing wall (from age 6) for a unique experience on the ramparts.
Off-road electric scooter tours (from age 12).
Laser tag (for ages 8 and up) in the former commando training village.

Charlemont also features events scheduled throughout the season.
Discover them via our website and social media.
