This castle is a remarkable example of Mosan Renaissance architecture, a subtle compromise between military constraints and the splendor of a princely residence (1th century). Shaped since the XNUMXth century by successive owners, the castle of Hierges has played a determining role in the transmission of Byzantine knowledge during the returns from the Crusades.
