Today, I'm introducing you to the Brasserie d'Aubrives . We had the chance to meet its owner , Cédric Martin , and his partner, who opened the doors of their brewery to us.

Cédric Martin is a brewer, game designer, and photographer. He is also heavily involved in local tourism and his village association. Coming from a family of café owners spanning several generations, he naturally has a passion for brewing beer , and living on Brewery Street , it was only natural for him to enter the world of brewing. He is an artist and a passionate individual, and this is reflected in his work.

Initially, his main activities were creating light fixtures from recycled materials and designing escape rooms and live-action role-playing games . Today, he has added a project aimed at revitalizing beer tourism , focusing on beer, and contributing to the preservation of the heritage of his village, Aubrives. His current activities include a microbrewery , with five beers already available, and the upcoming launch of three new beers inspired by international flavors. He also offers three escape games and two holiday cottages for rent.

He originally started brewing with a brewer's kit. The name of his beers, XP, comes from his friends who would regularly ask him, "What experiments are you doing today?"

La Brasserie

The brewery formerly known as "Brasserie Colin" ceased its brewing activities during the Second World War . Following the Liberation in 1945, the brewery resumed its activities, but this time as a merchant of wine, spirits, lemonade, and beers from other breweries.

Today, part of the buildings has unfortunately been destroyed. Only the storage area and the first buildings still exist; the brewery is currently housed in the storage area.

In the near future, the original brewery, which served as a studio for the artist Georges-Armand Favaudon and is now owned by Cédric Martin , will resume its former activities under the name “ L'atelier ”. This socio-cultural space will, of course, brew Aubrives beer, but will also include a tasting area , an artists' showcase , a space dedicated to local products, and will host various workshops and conferences.

He brews all his beers himself in his microbrewery . The beers offered are as follows:

Xp1: blond beer with 6%

Xp2: amber beer with 6,5%

Xp3: white beer with 6%

The Xp4: American IPA style beer with 6,7%

Xp6: white beer with red fruits with 4,5%

When he proposed his fruity beer, the first feedback was positive. Cédric realized that he had not even tasted it before launching it, it was lucky that it was appreciated. In addition, the amber beer, which was not initially supposed to be put on sale, turned out to be the sweetest and most popular among customers.
