Today I make you discover the Brasserie d’Aubrives. We were lucky to meet his owner Cedric Martin and his partner, who opened the doors of their brewery to us.

Cedric Martin is a brewer, game designer and photographer…. He is also heavily involved in the local tourism and in his village association. Coming from a family of coffee makers for several generations, he has naturally been passionate about beer making and, alive Brewery Street, it was obvious for him to launch himself into the brewing world. He is an artist and a passionate person, and this is reflected in his work.

Initially, his main activities are the creation of lighting fixtures based on recycled objects, the design escape rooms and life size games. Today, he adds a project aimed at relaunching thebrewing tourism activity with a focus on beer and contributing to the heritage preservation from his village, Aubrives. His current activities are the microbrewery, with 5 beers already available, and soon the launch of 3 new beers inspired by foreign countries. It also offers 3 escape games and rental of 2 cottages.

He originally started brewing with a brewer's kit. The name of his beers, XP, comes from his friends who would regularly ask him, "What experiments are you doing today?"

La Brasserie

The brewery formerly called “Brasserie Colin” ceased its brewing activities during the World War II. Following the Liberation in 1945 The brewery has resumed operations, but this time as a merchant of wine, spirits, lemonade and beers from other breweries.

Today, part of the buildings have unfortunately been destroyed. Only the reserve and the first buildings are still in existence, it is the reserve which currently houses the brewery.

In the near future, the original brewery, which served as the artist's studio Georges-Armand Favaudon, today owned by Cedric Martin, will resume its former activity under the name of “L'atelier". A socio-cultural space where of course the Aubrives beer will be brewed but also a tasting area, a artist showcase, a space dedicated to local products as well as the organization of various workshops and conferences.

He brews all his beers himself in his microbreweryThe beers offered are as follows:

Xp1: blond beer with 6%

Xp2: amber beer with 6,5%

Xp3: white beer with 6%

The Xp4: American IPA style beer with 6,7%

Xp6: white beer with red fruits with 4,5%

When he proposed his fruity beer, the first feedback was positive. Cédric realized that he had not even tasted it before launching it, it was lucky that it was appreciated. In addition, the amber beer, which was not initially supposed to be put on sale, turned out to be the sweetest and most popular among customers.
