Vireux-Wallerand is a village of 1849 inhabitants called Bayamonts
It is located 50km from Charleville-Mézières and 120km from Brussels (Belgium) and depends on the Community of Communes Ardenne Rives de Meuse.
The Meuse crosses the town.

Voie Verte Trans-Ardennes, former towpath along the Meuse, rehabilitated as a pedestrian path.
