Charlemont, perched on a rocky outcrop, in the heart of the Pointe de Givet Nature Reserve, dominates the Meuse and its surroundings. of the empire of Charles V, the site was then coveted by all the great of Europe and, until 1914, never surrendered... Today, it is the tourist who goes up to the assault on Charlemont, a privileged witness to history. Discover, in the open air, on a marked circuit, Pointe-Est, the old village, the headquarters hospital and the superb viewpoints over the Meuse and Givet. The site has been protected as a Historic Monument since October 24, 1927. Free and guided tours are offered to discover the history of this emblematic place.
