L'Alyse -VTT FFC n°18

D/A Departure from the Fumay captaincy. Head towards the Château des Comtes de Bryas near the bridge and go up to the left to Place Aristide Briand. Go along it to the right,
cross the RD51, follow the alley opposite to reach the Chapel of Diversmont.

1 Go down the path to the right and take the RD7 to the left for 2 km [heavy road traffic]. At the end of the cycle path, follow the forest road on the left along the Alyse stream. Pass the forest barrier and continue.

2 At the crossroads, continue on the Alyse forest road for 2 km.

3 At the intersection, climb the Chemin d'Oignies on the left for 760 m. At the crossroads in a bend, follow the Jean Duval de Couvin path to the right then take the Malvoye forest road to the left.

4 Cross the RD51 [busy road] and follow the path opposite. Cross the Place d'Argentine to follow the 3rd forest road on the right.

5 Follow the path on the left at the crossroads near the skidding area. Go down to the RD51 [Barrière at the end of the descent] and take it to the right for 15 m then turn left onto the forest path. Pass the 1st intersection.

6 Turn right and descend the path covered with roots. Pass 2 gates and continue straight ahead to come out on a paved road. Follow it to the left and pass the water treatment plant.

7 Go along the houses and reach the St Gilbert slate quarry (rest area). Follow the narrow slalom path in the woods.

8 At the level of the houses, take the street to the right. Join Avenue Jean Jaurès then on the right, Place Aristide Briand. Go along it and go down to the quays to reach the start.
