After a good warm-up on the banks of the Meuse on the greenway, the trail explores the forest massif, alternating wide forest roads and slightly more technical passages.

Description
D/A Start opposite the church of Chooz. Take the street passing in front of the town hall, turn right then left to cross the Meuse. Continue to the right.
1 Follow the greenway along the banks of the Meuse then enter the undergrowth to the left on a dirt road which rises to reach Ham-sur-Meuse via Rue des Douaires.
2 At the intersection go down to the right towards the center of the village; pass the church. After the bend, turn left into Rue du Paradis and follow the Voie Verte for almost 4 km towards Vireux-Wallerand.
3 Pass in front of an isolated house, leave the Voie Verte and take the path climbing to the left in the undergrowth for 1,6 km.
4 Turn right after the picnic table and go down the steep path for 350 m then turn right at the crossroads.
5 Descend for 250 m [steep slope] and turn left twice in succession. Carefully follow the markings to reach the hunting hut below, passing the Thirissart stream.
6 Follow the forest path climbing to the left of the hunting cabin for 1,4 km. Turn right on a narrow path slaloming between tree stumps and blue stone markers for 2,6 km.
7 After passing 2 large bumps, turn left and travel 250 m before joining a forest road. Go to the picnic area on the right.
8 Pass the gate and follow the Pèlerins forest road. At the wide crossroads (the Fontaine des Pèlerins is on the left), turn left then left again at the crossroads 100m further on.
9 Go down the stony track [Risk of falling], cross the Bourifosse stream and follow the forest path opposite, climbing nearly 1 m. Continue to follow the markings on the forest paths.
10 The slope steepens after a first steep left turn [1% slope with gravel and barrier at the end of the descent]. At the intersection, follow the paved road to the right towards the bridge to reach the starting point.
