In Vireux-Molhain, the collegiate church of Saint-Ermel bears witness to exceptional Mosan architecture, which made this region rich at the end of the late empire and the beginning of the Middle Ages.
Founded in 752 and placed under the protection of Pepin the Short, this collegiate church possesses a series of remarkable funerary slabs and furnishings of the Italian Renaissance type.
The pre-Romanesque crypt transports you back to the Carolingian era. Legend has it that Pepin the Short is still buried there.
