Hello today, in this article I will introduce you to our local specialties…You may know the Mollet cake, the tarte au sucre, or even the Bare ass cracker…Here are some more native specialties from the Ardennes, more precisely from the territory Val d'Ardenne

Local specialties:

The blue stone of Givet: This blue stone is an emblematic symbol of the region, it is for this reason that a Givetois decided to make some chocolate. This chocolate is made from dark chocolate ganache with a blueberry cream (fruit found everywhere in the Ardennes forest) and coated with blue chocolate, and finally lightly rolled in icing sugar in order to regain the appearance of a blue stone.

Fumay slate or schist: This chocolat not to be confused with the blue stone of Givet, made with almond-hazelnut nougatine and then coated with blue chocolate. It represents the very well-known rock, very present in the communes of Fumay et Haybes, especially on the roofs of houses.

Haybes white pudding: Don't be mistaken with the one in Rethel which is better known than the one in Haybes. Here is the difference between the two. The Rethel white pudding is made from white pork meat, eggs, milk, shallots, salt and pepper, without the addition of crumb or starch. It is often offered day, but it is also found in scented versions, such as mushrooms or truffles, which underlines its finesse and delicacy. The white pudding Haybes, on the other hand, is distinguished by the use of fresh premium pork meats, as well as onions and spices. It is usually available in a version day or onions, with a coarse chopping of the pieces of meat and cooked onions. This pudding is a essential specialty from the Meuse Valley, highly appreciated for its texture and taste. It can be simply fried with a knob of butter and enjoyed hot.

Although the Rethel white pudding be more known. The one from Haybes, with its varied recipes, offers a culinary experience unique, ideal for those looking for an authentic and tasty taste.
